2019 Charter of Corporate Sustainability

Friday 28 June 2019
On 20 June 2019 we received for the 16th time the VOKA [Flanders´ Chamber of Commerce and Industry] Charter of Corporate Sustainability, which offers companies, regardless of their size or sector, the possibility of also implementing corporate sustainability in practical ways within their own organisations. Via a custom-tailored action plan, each company takes concrete initiatives to do business in a more responsible way.

Every year, WAAK organises many actions in order to make advances in corporate sustainability: from POP interviews, social integration, work floor satisfaction actions, training and repair of bicycles, mental health, nutrition and movement week, the various construction projects, the internal improvement boards, electric gardening tools and how to use them efficiently, as well as expansion of ZOWE with the preparation of soup to the laundry activities, …

All of these initiatives must be linked to one of the seventeen sustainable development goals of the United Nations. A good annual evaluation ultimately results in a certificate of the Voka Charter of Corporate Sustainability for that year. If the final balance is positive after three years, companies receive the internationally recognised Unitar certificate linked to the United Nations. We hope to be able to obtain that certificate next year.

We wish to thank all of our employees for the contributions they made to obtain this charter.
