WAAK invests in additional accommodation and parking

Tuesday 01 December 2020
Our site on the Vijverhoek, where Metal & Assembly, Green & Clean and inHouse are located, gets a facelift. More parking lots for cars and commercial vehicles, a new zone for green waste and new company premises are on the planning.

Apart from our classic industrial activities there are about 500 employees at work off-site. They are active in gardening, landscaping, cleaning, inhouse work and painting. It is our ambition to further expand these services including investment in a new building and ample parking on our site on the Vijverhoek.

“As we could no longer accommodate the staff of our service unit, a new building is necessary”, our new Business Unit Manager Joren D’Hu clarifies. « Apart from the total workforce, there are also 60 vans and trailers in use. A new parking lot is now under construction for this growing vehicle fleet. This is the first stage of the expansion. The new building is to be constructed on the present parking lot.

There will be about 220 parking spaces for employees and some 60 spaces for commercial vehicles and minibuses in total. Also a new bicycle shed with room for 160 bikes and motorbikes will be provided for. After completion the construction of a new commercial building starts. It will be the eyecatcher of the site.

The entire project completion is due for end 2021 beginning 2022.
